UAN assists men, women and children in some of the most remote and poverty-stricken areas of the globe. Past and current projects include providing direct financial assistance and other necessities for flood victims in Central Vietnam, earthquake victims in Mexico City, clean water wells in India and Africa, sponsoring Vietnamese orphans and assisting other children and adults, many of whom are severely mentally disabled.
Charity begins at home. UAN recognizes the importance of serving in the communities where we live and work and is committed to developing and supporting local projects, workshops and volunteer activities that support our mission of providing humanitarian relief and educating and inspiring others to nurture virtue, kindness, compassion and joy in selfless giving.
Local projects have included fundraising efforts to purchase and deliver necessities to domestic abuse victims displaced by Hurricane Harvey, and in December 2018, UAN members distributed coats at the Junior League of Austin’s annual “Coats For Kids” event.
UAN also hosts local “East Meets West” health education workshops that compare Eastern and Western approaches to various health and wellness issues.
UAN’s Knitting Group brings together young and old alike who learn a mindful skill while knitting warm hats and scarves for Austin’s homeless.
