UAN’s Sustainable Peanut Butter Cultivation Project Provides Hunger Relief to Children of South Sudan
On Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Champion Park in Cedar Park, UAN held its 2nd annual Spring Fundraising Fest and 5K Walk, with a goal of raising enough funds to support the Sustainable Peanut Cultivation Project to feed the severely malnourished children of South Sudan, Africa, the world’s current top hunger hotspot.
Together, our community came together to celebrate culture and fellowship through live music and dance, nature walks, delicious food, art, and a very inspiring address from our Ugandan partner, Sister Rosemary, whom we’ve partnered with on successful African projects since 2021. Together, we raised enough funds to plant the peanut crops that will relieve the hunger of at least 450 children and employ at least 17 workers/farmers.
Thanks to this generous outpouring of support, Sister Rosemary was able to purchase the equipment and hire the help needed to plant and maintain a full 7 acres of peanuts that will soon be harvested to feed these children who so desperately need sustenance in order to survive.
Our collective vision of planting, harvesting, and packaging this hunger relief for these precious children is coming to fruition through this vetted, sustainable, community-driven approach. But there is still more help needed. Harvest time is just around the corner in late September, and 5 more acres need to be planted.
Support of local farm hands ($50 per month each) is what is still needed most.
Your donation—no matter the size—will make a real, immediate impact.
Together, we can help South Sudan’s vulnerable children not only survive—but thrive. Any donation is welcome.
